We recently fabricated control panel enclosures for an OEM manufacturer of drives and controls used on cranes and hoists.
The customer’s engineering team was looking to save time and labor costs by having us make predetermined cutouts for cooling units, panel meters, and various connection points on their 72” by 72” enclosures.
Using our Steinhauer ModCenter, we were able to complete their enclosure modifications about 75% faster than traditional methods, where workers would make the cuts by hand with a drill or jigsaw. Projects that used to take the customer hours can now be completed in minutes. Our facility is also better equipped to deal with moving and fabricating larger enclosures, like the one used in this application.
Control panel cuts made on our Steinhauer ModCenter are cleaner than those made manually and there is less of a chance of the machine making a mistake and damaging the enclosure. The process is repeatable and accurate. Also, manual enclosure modification often creates safety issues for workers as metal shards are thrown off and blades can break during the cutting process.
FrommConnect is a full-service panel fabrication shop, and we are very flexible. We can do one-offs, as well as large orders.
In addition to panel cutting, we can drill, tap, mount, and install hardware and ship the completed assembly to your facility. We tailor the design to your specific requirements and can produce control panels for virtually any application.
