FrommConnect was recently contacted by a toll processing company to build an enclosure for two 480v three-phase variable frequency drives (VFDs) that would run a milling installation at a new facility in Virginia.
Because FrommConnect is a full-service panel shop, we were able to manage the entire process from start to finish.
We started by creating the electrical schematics for the enclosure’s layout, size, panel cuts, and wiring. This included calculating heat dissipation and selecting cooling methods so the VFDs wouldn’t overheat. Also, since milling creates a certain amount of dust, the unit had to be appropriately sealed.
We then cut the enclosure and panels with our Hoffman ModCenter, which delivers precise and consistent results. Next, we assembled, wired, and tested the unit. Our UL-certified shop guarantees compliance with all necessary standards, such as NFPA 70. Finally, the enclosure was packaged for shipping and sent out via Fromm’s delivery truck.
