Garrett Derr is the newest member of the FrommConnect team.
He joins us as a control panel assembly technician, responsible for wiring, mounting, and installing hardware in electrical control panels.
“I am committed to helping our customers through hard work, efficiency, and dedication,” said Garrett. “My motto is that anything worth doing is worth doing right, and I always try to embody that in everything I do. That means I double, and triple check my work to ensure I give the customer the best possible product or service.”
Garrett’s interest in engineering started in high school when he studied mechatronics at Berks Career and Technology Center.
He recently graduated from Penn State Berks with a bachelor’s degree in electromechanical engineering technology. During his time at Penn State, he spent a summer interning with Fromm’s industrial automation group.
The internship went so well that after graduation the FrommConnect team offered him a full-time position.
“It was an easy yes,” said Garrett. “My favorite part of working at FrommConnect is the people. My coworkers are reliable and supportive.”
Outside of work, Garrett is an outdoorsman who enjoys camping, boating, and fishing. He also loves music and plays several different genres on the guitar.
