Problem:
A large battery manufacturer needed 94 custom control panels for a safety modification in its production process, where new batteries receive their initial charge. The project required precise hole cutouts in stainless-steel enclosures—a material that is labor-intensive to work with and leaves little margin for error. Additionally, the panels required installation of specialized third-party hardware. The customer also needed flexible delivery to avoid storage challenges and potential damage to finished panels.
Solution:
Using a Steinhauer ModCenter, the team produced accurate, consistent, and repeatable hole cutouts in the stainless-steel panels, ensuring higher efficiency and safety compared to manual cutting methods. During assembly, the team integrated the customer-provided specialized hardware, meeting all specifications.
To accommodate the customer’s installation schedule, completed panels were stored in FrommConnect’s warehouse and shipped on demand, minimizing the manufacturer’s on-site storage needs and risk of damage.
