Integrating Rockwell FactoryTalk Optix to Walchem Process Controller

Automation units

A metal alloys manufacturer was having difficulty with its wastewater control platform software communicating with other technology platforms at its facility. They use a Walchem Process Controller to monitor and regulate various aspects of the wastewater treatment process, such as PH levels.

Our team designed a FactoryTalk Optix application to serve as a communication gateway. We installed a Rockwell 5380 CompactLogix to visualize and share the wastewater data coming from the Walchem unit. Not only are the programs now communicating, but the customer has a user interface with upgraded graphics that make for a more effective user experience. The customer no longer needs to rely on an in-house software developer to share data and make platform updates.

Since FactoryTalk Optics is an open-source program, it can connect products and software from different manufacturers, like Walchem to Rockwell.

Does your facility have an issue with different equipment not working together? We can help.
